ROBO MAZE

THE AUTONOMOUS NAVIGATION CHALLENGE

EVENT DATE

11-12 NOV

2025

TIMINGS

09:00 AM - 03:00 PM

The Robo Maze competition challenges participants to design autonomous robots capable of navigating through a structured maze filled with obstacles. Robots must detect, avoid, and maneuver around barriers without human intervention. The event promotes problem-solving, sensor integration, and algorithmic programming, testing both hardware design and coding logic.

ENTRY FEE

₹300

PRIZE POOL

₹6,000

Robot Specifications

  • Robots must fit inside a 20 cm × 20 cm × 20 cm cube.
  • Robots must be self-built (no ready-made robots allowed).
  • Locomotion: Wheels or tracks allowed.
  • Sensors: Ultrasonic, infrared, etc. permitted for obstacle detection.
  • Controller: Only Arduino-based microcontrollers allowed.
  • Prohibited: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or any wireless communication modules.

Maze Specifications

  • Entire maze dimensions: 120 cm × 180 cm.
  • Each block: 30 sq. cm.
  • Wall height: 20 cm (±2 cm).

Obstacle Avoidance Rules

  • Robots must autonomously navigate without hitting walls/obstacles.
  • Robots must not damage or move maze obstacles.
  • Manual touches allowed only for corrections, with penalties.

Timing Rules

  • Competition has 1 round, same maze layout for all.
  • Timer starts when robot crosses start line, ends at endpoint.
  • If robot is stuck/no progress >3 minutes → run declared unsuccessful.
  • Manual touch/redirect → +10 seconds penalty.
  • Maximum 10 touches allowed → 11th touch = disqualification.
  • Scoring based on completion time (including penalties).

Safety Rules

  • Robots must have an emergency stop mechanism.
  • Teams are responsible for robot safety and ensuring it poses no harm.
